Our Team

Madison Paez

Madi, born and raised in South Florida is a graduate of the University of Chicago. She co-founded GI 305 in 2023 with her colleague, Jandrick, to advance guaranteed income in Miami-Dade County neighborhoods most vulnerable to poverty, violence, and displacement.

Prior to founding GI 305, Madi served as the Project Coordinator for the Illinois Justice Project. She represented Team USA at the Pan-American Karate Championships in 2015 and currently trains for triathlons in her free time.

Jandrick Castro

Jandrick Castro, originally from Sanford, Florida, moved to Chicago in 2018 to pursue a dual degree from the University of Chicago in Public Policy and Economics. A first-generation American from a low-income community, Jandrick is an advocate for the abolition of poverty and believes in open-border policies. He is constantly engaged in poverty work and strives to center political narratives around those most affected.

After graduating in 2022, Jandrick joined the Legal Aid Foundation in Chicago in the Children and Families practice group contesting poverty-rooted family separations as enforced by the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services. He co-founded GI 305 with Madi in 2023. Jandrick is one of three siblings but has 73 known cousins. He is also a skilled weightlifter and RipStik savant.

neal daniel

Neal Daniel is a junior at the University of Miami studying Innovation, Technology, and Design. Originally from Douglasville, Georgia, he moved to South Florida to gain exposure to a vast array of people and cultures to better understand and connect with others. Through many projects and courses, Neal has learned the importance of user centricity in problem definition and product design/development. As a result, Neal seeks to apply the philosophy to address the needs of those who face issues such as housing insecurity and poverty.

josiah morris

Josiah Morris is an undergraduate sophomore student at Florida Atlantic University as well as a sophomore attending FAU high school where he will be receiving a diploma alongside my degree in Political Science.

Outside of academics, he enjoys competing in business competitions and training such as FAU Wave and NSF I-Corps. He is excited to join GI 305 and learn more about community organizing while working towards a more equitable Miami community.

Einath Korchak

Einath was born in Cuenca, Ecuador. She moved to North Carolina at the age of three and grew up in a small town. In 2019, she relocated to Miami, where she has surrounded herself with a diverse community that inspires her to embrace her heritage while also exploring new perspectives and experiences. She is currently a senior at Florida International University, majoring in Business Analytics and Finance. Returning to school to pursue a field she is passionate about has been incredibly empowering, and she is excited by the potential of what she can achieve with her knowledge. Einath aspires to use her skills to make a positive impact and contribute to the betterment of the world around her.

Deborah Augustin

Deborah is a senior at Florida International University, majoring in Information Technology with a minor in History. They have developed a strong interest in racial and gender dynamics, topics they have explored during their studies. Currently, Deborah is completing an internship that aligns with their academic focus and career goals. They are passionate about environmental justice and are mastering the art of storytelling through data to create impactful narratives. In their free time, Deborah enjoys reading and cooking, which is also the main theme of their blog, where they share culinary experiences and recipes.
